Welcome

I hope this will be a place for us to get to know one another. It’s as close as I can come to asking you to sit at my kitchen table for a cup of Aunt Agatha’s sassafras tea or Charlie Anne’s vinegar pie. There are pictures of the sheep our family keeps as pets, the outhouse (unused!) which was the inspiration for Esther in Tending to Grace, and the brook that runs behind my home where I hiked each day to talk to Charlie Anne.

There’s the spot by our barn where my daughters held the chicken races that made Mirabel so angry, the rope swing that works best when you jump out of the tree house, and up the road are the cows I would sit and watch on hot summer days. And if there’s one thing about cows, they know when it’s time to relax!

I hope you’ll email me and tell me a little about yourself. As Charlie Anne says, “You can’t love somebody if you don’t know somebody,” and when we all take time to get to know one another, the world becomes a lovelier and kinder place.

Enjoy!
